It's been rather apparent that Dubstep has had an affect on pop culture over
the past two years. From Skrillex to Deadmou5, dubstep and electro have been added to pop artists music. Lately, it seems that every song on the radio has either a dubstep
breakdown halfway through it or a dubstep style theme to the song. This change in music trend has
made me wonder how it will and has affected other art forms that are reliant on music such as dancing. From what I have seen of the dancing, I must say its pretty crazy and if you want to see a sweet example check this out.

This year on So You Think You Can Dance it seemed like every second dancer had infused there dance moves with a dubstep inspired section of music. With dubstep added to the music there were dance moves that came with it which came across as break dancing mixed with the robot. This addition of break and robot dance moves to the other genres of dancing has inspired some very interesting collaborations of dance and music. Just like dubstep remixes of songs it appears that dancing is experiencing some of the same changes.
Personally, I like dubstep because it is close to punk with breakdowns and heavier tones but it is just crazy when you watch dancers add it to their dance moves. If you watch the video you can see that it takes a lot of skill to add this style of dance moves with the music. The craziest part is that most of these dancers would likely not have added this style of dance to there routines if it wasn't for the current trend of dubstep.
This change makes me wonder what will happen next with both dance and music. What will become the next style in pop culture and how will it effect both art forms? What do you guys think? Leave a comment and if you find any dubstep videos post a link.
